Fuel Cards For Cancer Patients

Because fighting cancer is hard enough. The least we can do is cover your gas.

Did You Know...

· Since 2019, we've helped over 135 local patients with fuel cards.

· The youngest patient was 5 and the oldest was 70.

·  We've paid for over $40,000 worth of fuel for our local warriors.

About The Program

Since 2019, the Moab Healthcare Foundation has worked to raise money to gift gas cards to local cancer patients living anywhere in the Moab area and surrounding rural communities. Part of living in a rural community means banding together to help someone when times are tough.

Our amazing hospital has an incredible oncology treatment center, but sometimes our citizens have to travel to larger medical centers for treatments not offered here.

Our goal is to provide Maverik fuel cards (no strings attached) to help offset the cost of travel to and from these appointments.

How to Apply

Applying is easy.
Fill out the form below, and one of our staff will be in touch soon to confirm eligibility. Want to inquire on behalf of a patient who is under 18 or is non-English speaking? No problem, our form will guide you through the process. All information submitted is confidential and will not be shared outside our organization.

Moab Regional Hospital (MRH) also offers infusion treatment services close to home. Discuss with your healthcare provider and contact the MRH Oncology Department at 435-719-3500 to determine if you can receive treatments locally.

Receiving fuel cards from the Moab Healthcare Foundation has been a tremendous help during my cancer treatment. The frequent trips to and from the hospital were a significant financial strain, but this assistance took a huge weight off my shoulders. It allowed me to focus on my recovery without worrying about how I would afford the travel. Thank you for your incredible generosity and support.

In 2023, I was diagnosed with cancer, and the financial burden of traveling to multiple medical facilities for appointments has been overwhelming. The Foundation’s generous provision of fuel cards has significantly alleviated this expense, enabling me to continue attending all of my necessary appointments without the constant worry of transportation costs.

I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. Your work makes a tangible difference in the lives of so many individuals and families in our community, and I am deeply appreciative of all that you do.

My wife, Angel, was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2018. We were really scared, as one would expect with something like this. We sold our home to move to something affordable since Angel could no longer work. It was very stressful on all of us, including our three boys. We found out about fuel cards and they have truly been a blessing to our family. We go to Provo every two weeks, stay in hotels, and the fuel cards have been very helpful. Thank you to our friends, family, and community for all of your support!

I have been accessing fuel cards through the Moab Healthcare Foundation for patients for a number of years, as one of the hospital's social workers. It is very expensive to be a patient and to travel back and forth to SLC for treatment. It is an amazing gift that the foundation is providing!

When a gift card was given to me after my husband was diagnosed with cancer, I was overwhelmed. I actually tried to return it!
